  • Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council, Inc.
    For $1,000 our television program Money Matters! can air four hours in each county. For $200 we can provide a group of ten individuals anywhere in Delaware access to our dynamic education on Money Matters! along with our material (also on www.dcrac.org).
     
  • Autism Society of Delaware
    ASD’s mission is to promote lifelong opportunity and acceptance in the community for people with autism and their families through education, advocacy and public awareness. We offer community to families affected by autism through social events, support groups, a teen social group, and parent mentoring. We provide an in-depth newsletter at no cost to every member and to every child in the statewide Delaware Autism Program, and to policymakers and legislators five times each year. We offer monthly educational opportunities with speakers. We contract with the State to provide services to adults with autism, and are underwriting the start-up of this services. Most of our events are provided at no charge.
     
  • Westside Health, Inc.
    $1.00 can provide a dental patient with a new toothbrush, floss and toothpaste. $5 can provide an uninsured or underinsured patient with prescription medication. $15 provides an uninsured patient a medical exam. $45 provides an uninsured patient a dental exam. $415 provides an uninsured patient with full prenatal care throughout their pregnancy.
     
  • Delaware Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc.
    Donations will provide scholarships, peer-support at the national, state and local levels; "COPS Kids" counseling reimbursement programs, "COPS Kids" summer camp, "COPS Teens" Outward Bound experience for young adults; special retreats for spouses, parents, in-laws, siblings and adult children; trial and parole support and other specialized programs designed to help survivors rebuild their lives.
     
  • Pregnancy Help Center of Kent County, Inc.
    $400 can provide a pregnancy test, limited medical exam by a physician, limited ultrasound, peer counseling, maternity clothing, baby clothing and furnishings, and referrals for other needs.
     
  • Delaware HIV Consortium
    $15 can pay for HIV/AIDS Resource guides for three persons living with HIV/AIDS; $40 can provide one hour of work with a HIV/AIDS services case manager; $55 can pay for a housing inspection for clients in the Consortium’s Rental Voucher Program; $75 provides one hour of mental health counseling for clients struggling to live with HIV disease; $100 can assist in the payment of financial assistance to the prevention the termination of utilities or eviction from a rental unit for a client.
     
  • Gift of Life Donor Program
    Contributions will be utilized to support public education programs and materials in Delaware promoting life saving and life enhancing organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
     
  • National Kidney Foundation of the Delaware Valley, The
    For every dollar donated, $.81 will support programs such as: KEEP (Kidney Early Evaluation Program) Screenings for people at risk of kidney disease, patient educational programs, and educational programs to help seniors learn about kidney disease. It will also help provide patient, family and professional information about kidney disease, treatments, and transplantation.
     
  • Air Mobility Command Museum Foundation, Inc.
    Money is used to pay for the maintenance, upkeep and display of our aircraft and collection of artifacts, the material history of aerial refueling, the Air Mobility Command, and Dover Air Force Base.
     
  • Delaware Hospice, Inc.
    A contribution of $1,000 to Delaware Hospice can provide a patient with medication and equipment for a week, a $500 contribution will provide a day of care at the Delaware Hospice Center, or a gift of $100 can provide a family with a bereavement visit from a Delaware Hospice counselor.
     
  • Junior Achievement of Delaware, Inc.
    $50 will put one student through a Junior Achievement program.
     
  • Voices Without Borders, Inc.
    A contribution of $30 will provide two hours of training in community organizing. A contribution of $50 will cover the cost of printed material to educate tenants about their rights. A contribution of $100 will help sponsor a workshop on economic development for low-income individuals.
     
  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
    $1 will buy 10 awareness brochures to educate the general public about cystic fibrosis. $5 will buy one educational booklet for patients newly diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. $10 will buy three educational DVD’s for patients with cystic fibrosis and their family members. $250 helps to support staff at the CF care center. $500 helps to support drug recovery research to find a new CH therapy.
     
  • Delaware Housing Coalition
    $25 provides "Housing in a Hurry" directory of affordable rental housing for 250 people seeking shelter or permanent affordable housing.
     
  • Kent/Sussex Human Services Council, Inc. (K/S Adopt-A-Family)
    A $125.00 donation can provide vital assistance to provide stability to a family experiencing a crisis or unexpected change in the household due to forced relocation or added household members put in their care. Assistance includes but is not limited to financial assistance with an unforeseen expense such as the repair of a refrigerator or stove, or household items for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, baby room or general household operations, or to provide school supplies for a child including shoes, homework supplies such as a dictionary or holiday gift assistance for a child.
     
  • March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation Delaware Chapter
    The March of Dimes has a long and distinguished record of accomplishments. Funds that are contributed are spent wisely – a full 75.4% of every dollar spent supports programs that help prevent and treat birth defects. As an example, a $100 donation, along with 24 others, will cover the cost of a bed or a day in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit). A $250 donation will cover the cost to have a baby on a ventilator for one day. Additionally, the March of Dimes provides many services, such as bereavement kits to parents/families that have lost a child, Parent Care Kits to parents with babies in the NICU, and educational materials to people or professionals on topics such as smoking and drug risks, eating for two, cesarean birth, and prenatal care (just to name a few).
     
  • Best Buddies Delaware
    $150 can sponsor a buddy pair for a full school year.
     
  • Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities
    DFRC is a well respected foundation dedicated to raising funds and consciousness through quality events to support enrichment programs so that all Delawareans with intellectual disabilities maximize their potential, independence and enjoyment of life.
     
  • Appoquinimink River Association
    $5 provides 3 trees or 6 wildflowers for planting in open spaces of developments or along our waterways to protect water quality and create a wildlife habitat; $10 provides supplies to teach 90 children how to keep water clean; $35 provides the supplies for a resident to create own rain barrel to collect storm water to prevent flooding and water pollution; $100 provides a pet waste collection station for a local park or community to prevent bacteria water pollution.
     
  • Elizabeth W. Murphey School, Inc.
    Your contribution will help provide reading tutors to our youth.
     
  • Cancer Care Connection, Inc.
    $50 provides a person dealing with cancer with a free professional assessment, unlimited professional phone coaching to help them in making informed decision; assistance in managing their personal needs involved with their diagnosis, treatment or care (or care giving) and the ability to easily connect with a manageable number of local and national resources tailored to help them with their needs and concerns. $50 provides a person dealing with cancer with a personalized Cancer Resource Pod (copyright 2006) or web-based page of links and information designed specifically for them and their care giving team. The pod can be emailed to others and includes the guided audio from a professional coach assigned to help them through their journey with cancer. $25 supports the printing and distribution of community outreach materials to under served and high-risk populations and supports staff outreach to those populations. $10 supports the creation and distribution of a CDROM that houses updated Delaware cancer information with links to additional Delaware-based information and support.
     
  • Delaware Association of Conservation Districts - Delaware Envirothon
    $20.00 training for one student (120 minimum students); $30.00 test kit for aquatics; $20.00 one aquatic field guide; $40.00 first place award jacket; $445.00 travel for one student; $50.00 first place category award; $300.00 grant for second place team; $500.00 first place scholarship (five minimum); $800.00 team registration for national competition.
     
  • Henrietta Johnson Medical Center
    $5.00 provides free flu shots to patients otherwise unable to pay.

WHYY has expanded its reach in the First State by opening a bureau in Dover to enhance coverage of the issues and events that impact all Delawareans.
     
  • Delaware CarePlan, Inc.
    $40/hour can provide an individual with a disability with their own personal advocate to assist with money management, grocery shopping, transporting to doctors’ appointments or attendant services.
     
  • Lupus Foundation of America, Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter, Inc.
    $25 provides a scholarship to the Annual Living Well with Lupus Seminar; $30 provides a complimentary subscription to Lupus Now Magazine, the only research and treatment news and life enrichment national magazine especially for people with lupus, their families and the medical community; $100 provides medication support for someone living with lupus who otherwise would be unable to afford these needed medicines.
     
  • Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware
    $50 will educate 50 teens about Seizure Recognition and First Aid.
     
  • Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc.
    The average cost to treat and rehabilitate an injured bird is $125.00.
     
  • Believe in Tomorrow National Children's Foundation, Inc.
    $25 per week can provide two children with life-threatening illnesses and their families a stay at the beach.
     
  • USO Delaware
    $5 can provide a HOME AWAY FROM HOME including FREE coffee, snack, personal hygiene items and calling cards for our Military Heroes.
     
  • Cathedral Choir School of Delaware
    $50 helps a young person learn to read music; $100 supplies a uniform for a youth to wear; $500 underwrites weekly private piano lessons for one youth for a year; $1000 can provide a digital piano to be loaned to a youth for practice; $1500 provides a scholarship for a youth including vocal training, piano lessons and mentoring.
     
  • 21st Century Fund for Delaware's Children, Inc.
    $100.00 can provide a child an electric guitar; $75 can provide children with art supplies; $35 can provide a child with enrollment fee for youth soccer league.
     
  • Animal Humane Sanctuary
    $12 provides a 16 lb. bag of animal food and $50 will sponsor neutering for a male cat.
     
  • Delaware Rugby Foundation
    Contributions go toward rugby development initiatives in Delaware. Included but not limited to providing scholarships for distinguished student athletes, support for high school and other youth rugby programs around the state, and broader educational initiatives to increase public interest in the sport.

    $1500 can provide food for all residents in our two shelters for domestic violence victims for one month. $500 can provide five counseling sessions for a family in crisis. $150 can provide six nights in a shelter for a battered woman.

    Your contribution will go to support research that is focused on the following areas: Goal Area 1: Restoration and Maintenance of Normal Blood Glucose Islet transplantation, including support of clinical trials and research in the induction of immune tolerance; research on beta cell growth and differentiation; generation of beta cells from stem cells; preservation of beta cell mass and function. Goal Area 2: Prevention and Treatment of Complications Prevention of vascular inflammation and organ damage; new clinical interventions, including gene therapy; prevention and treatment of hypoglycemia; genetics of susceptibility to complications. Goal Area 3: Prevention of Diabetes and its Recurrence Understanding the genetics of type 1 diabetes to develop strategies to prevent treat the disease; conducting genomics studies to identify genes and determine how they function.

    $400 provides transportation, lodging, meals and activities for 5 days and 4 nights for one camper.
     
  • Delaware Humane Association
    $150 covers the cost of preparing a dog or a cat for adoption, which includes spaying or neutering, veterinary examination, vaccinations, micro chipping, collar, leash, and ID tag.
     
  • Kent County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
    $15.00 feeds 20 dogs or 25 cats for one day; $15.00 provides housing and care for one dog or cat for one day; $30.00 vaccinates ten dogs or 15 cats; $50 provides ten heart worm tests for dogs or ten feline leukemia/FIV tests for cats; $100.00 can neuter three dogs or four cats, or spay two dogs or three cats.
     
  • Faithful Friends, Inc.
    $25 can neuter one homeless cat; $80 can spay one homeless dog; $100 provides therapy visits to residents in one facility for one year; $500 supports the rescue, medical treatment and spay/neuter of four homeless pets for adoption.
     
  • Children's Beach House, Inc.
    $100 provides social skill classes for a child; $250 provides a three-day camp experience for a child; $500 supports a family event; $1,000 provides a week of summer camp for a child.
     
  • Sunday Breakfast Mission
    It costs $35 per day to give homeless man shelter, food, clothing and counseling. Each person may stay at the mission for as long as it takes to get back on their feet and start a new life. It costs less that $2 per meal served. We can create these economies because of an extensive use of in kind donations and volunteer support which helps spread the charitable dollar further.
     
  • Delaware State Police Museum, Inc.
    Contributions support the operation of the museum and its educational programs that reached 4,220 members of the general public, targeted educational programs that reached 146 physically and mentally challenged individuals and structured educational programs that reached 983 school children in calendar year 2007.
     
  • Ingleside Homes, Inc.
    $5 – three meals/day for one senior; $10 – transportation to/from doctor; $42/day – housing with supportive services for one day per senior; $150 – health insurance to pay for life saving medications.
     
  • Food Bank of Delaware
    $12.00 will feed 35 children a meal; $50 will feed 200 homeless people a meal; $100 will feed 444 meals to senior citizens; $1,000 will feed 4,444 meals to families affected by unemployment.

    $5 provides a year’s subscription to Pocket Change, a newsletter with practical tips about taking charge of your money. $10 provides a year’s subscription to Money Talk$, a newsletter for parents to teach children about money. $25 provides training for a new volunteer Delaware Money School instructor. $40 provides materials for a teacher to implement two comprehensive financial education lessons for his or her students. $50 pays for the cost of a high school student to attend our financial education summit. $100 provides the costs for three women to attend a "Kiss Debt Goodbye" seminar.
     
  • Interfaith Housing Delaware, Inc.
    Your contribution helps us deliver our housing development and education/training programs: single-family home ownership, assisted rental property development and management, financial literacy training, housing counseling, and foreclosure mitigation.
     
  • Partnerships for the Delaware Estuary
    Donations can help provide storm water education to the public, make educational programs available in local schools, create buffers along local waterways for erosion control and water quality benefits, and restore critical wildlife habitat.
     
  • La Red Health Center, Inc.
    $30 will cover the office visit fees for individuals who are at or below 100% of the federal poverty level and who do not qualify for public assistance.
     
  • St. Michael's School and Nursery, Inc.
    $150 can provide a fun-filled and educational week for a summer camper. $90 can help a three year old living in poverty access a week of quality early care and education. $50 can help to purchase books for a Pre-Kindergarten classroom.

    Any contributions would be used to support the educational and interpretive programs available throughout the Park, or to help with the maintenance of the color camera over an active osprey nest and a 32 inch monitor in the Seaside Nature Center.

    $4 - $550 will provide need-based scholarships for deserving students to attend our summer earth and space academies, field trips and for Saturday Learning Programs. Additionally, contributions off set registration fees for professional development for educators.
     
  • Special Olympics Delaware
    Athlete uniforms for competition - $26; Sports equipment for training one team - $85; attend competition - $65; for one athlete to attend Summer Camp - $50; Athlete Leadership Programs - $100.

  • Krysti Bingham Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Inc.
    Contributions received will be utilized to provide social services to six residents of the First Hope House and to leverage matching funds in order to construct a second Hope House.
     
  • NRA Foundation, Inc., The
    The Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program is the most widely taught gun safety program in the country. This program teaches accident prevention for children in pre-kindergarten through third grade so they know what to do if they find a gun in an unsupervised situation. Although parents are ultimately responsible for educating their children about safety, everyone can play a vital role in preventing gun accidents.
