State Employees' Charitable Campaign

STEPS TO SUCCESSFUL SOLICITATION

  1. Introduce yourself.
    Make a positive, friendly introduction.  Check your co-worker's awareness of SECC supported services and explain why you give yourself.

  2. Give co-workers reasons to support SECC.

  3. Tell co-workers how much good their payroll deductions will do.

  4. Explain to co-workers that they can designate their contribution.

  5. Answer questions.

  6. Ask for a pledge.
    After encouraging a co-worker to give using payroll deduction, a painless way of contributing, ask for a pledge.  The pledge card can then be completed.

  7. Ask each employee to fill out a pledge card.
    Those who do not wish to contribute can mark the appropriate box.

  8. Say thanks.
    Take the time to personally thank each person who has contributed.  Remind everyone that his/her pledge will make a difference.
